Mick Raich is the founder of Vachette Pathology. He is a nationally recognized consultant in the business of pathology and laboratory billing. His easy style and get-it-done personality have allowed him to become an industry leader. Mr. Raich has spent his decades-long career in health care, including experience with direct patient care, hospital management and pathology billing. Over the years, Mr. Raich has presented at every major national pathology and laboratory society conference and numerous state societies. He is frequently quoted, interviewed, and published as a specialist in this field. Mr. Raich is an ardent supporter of PathPAC and a member of MGMA.

 

Michelle Miller, Vice President

Vachette26Ms. Miller brings more than 20 years of billing and practice management experience to our team and has extensive knowledge and experience in accounts receivables management as well as network and contract management. She has conducted many successful contract negotiations with networks and managed care organizations, resulting in substantial revenue enhancements. Ms. Miller specializes in working with new practices and guiding them through all phases of new practice set up. She has taken pathology practices through initial development with new billing agencies and has worked through initialization of new laboratory information systems.

Ms. Miller is our primary source of contact for office management of independent labs and hospital-based pathology practices with hands-on patient customer service and referral source management. She is adept at performing complex billing audits and providing support for moving practices to electronic billing functions and automated processes.

Ms. Miller’s most noted success was orchestrating a contractual settlement with an insurance carrier due to nonpayment issues that resulted in the recovery of more than $500,000 for the practice she represented.

Ms. Miller has presented at Indiana Association of Pathologists and is a highly decorated Dale Carnegie graduate.

 

 Angela Granlund, Executive Client Administrator

Angela Granlund first joined Vachette as an Executive Client Administrator. Prior to joining our team, Mrs. Granlund worked as an executive assistant for an independent medical management company and health plan administrator. Mrs. Granlund comes to us with more than 17 years of administrative and client support experience. Academically, Mrs. Granlund earned her B.S. in biology from Butler University. Her background and experience have made her a valuable asset to Vachette Pathology.

 

Jessica Jankowski,  Executive Client Administrator

Jessica Jankowski came to Vachette Pathology with more than eight years of experience in the health care industry, with the last four years spent serving as an Accounts Receivable Manager at a large medical practice. This role allowed her to develop leadership and analytical skills that promote swift attention to problems and areas of concern. Mrs. Jankowski’s experience in credentialing and contracting offers the necessary expertise to uphold the contractual obligations of carriers. Mrs. Jankowski is a graduate of DeVry University with a B.S. in healthcare administration.

 

Ann Lambrix, Executive Client Administrator

Vachette19Ann Lambrix comes to Vachette with more than 13 years in the medical insurance and billing industry. Ann has worked for a third-party insurance company, leading their internal review and audit team and creating provider payment guidelines and processes for claims adjudication. She also has several years experience in physician and hospital billing, managing insurance teams for national, multi-billion dollar corporations with billing and collections in more than 30 states to governmental and commercial insurance plans.

 

Jennifer Martin, Executive Client Administrator

Vachette15Jennifer Martin comes to Vachette with more than 18 years experience in the health care industry, including medical insurance and billing. Jennifer worked for eight years at a large insurance company where she gained understanding of how benefits are provided and facilitated claims adjustments. She worked for four years at a multiple-specialty clinic with more than 200 physicians in the billing department, where she appealed denied claims and worked aging accounts receivable. She also has several years experience working in the front office for a physician practice, inputting demographics and handling medical records. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to understanding the denial of claims and the explanation of benefits from multiple insurance carriers.

 

Billie Morawski, Director of Audit Services

Billie Morawski comes to Vachette with more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry as a senior-level auditor. She has worked on managed care audits, payment posting audits, clinical and anatomic pathology audits, making her a valuable asset to the company.  Billie graduated with honors from Owens Community College with an associate’s degree in applied business-accounting and is also a Certified Professional Coder.

 

Jacob Vugrinac, Director of Business Development

Vachette02Jacob Vugrinac joined Vachette Pathology in June of 2015. Prior to Vachette, he worked for The World Series of Poker in Las Vegas where he was in charge of tax preparation and payouts; this included the payment of over $200 million in prize money each year. Jake received his accounting degree from Ohio State University where he graduated from the Honors Accounting Program. Jake’s zest for life, attention to detail and gregarious nature have made him a valuable asset at Vachette. In his free time Jake enjoys playing hockey (but still has all his teeth) and watching his beloved Cleveland Browns as a season ticket holder (the quintessential eternal optimist). Mark Dietz, Director of Internal Business Development and Database Management

Vachette07aMark Dietz joined Vachette Pathology in October 2014. Prior to Vachette, he spent seven years in the elevator industry as a national business development manager, where he was known for his personable nature and technical knowledge. Previously, Mark spent six years as an engineer in the automotive industry, working with Fortune 500 clients and major automakers. He even taught middle school in his beloved hometown of Baltimore, MD. Mark received his B.S. from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has traveled extensively throughout Europe. Alex Mitchell, Director of Information and Content

Alex Mitchell joined Vachette in February 2016 to produce web content based on the latest industry news and trends our team members uncover. A native of Blissfield, MI., Alex graduated from Michigan State University in 2012 with a B.A. in journalism. Prior to joining Vachette, Alex honed his skills as a writer and communicator while working as a journalist in Kalamazoo, MI. During his time in Kalamazoo, Alex was promoted from intern to staff reporter and earned a Michigan Associated Press Media Editor’s Award for his efforts. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing quidditch and spending time with his wife, Ally. He is an avid gamer and Detroit sports super fan — a curse he’s passed down to his pet dog, Miggy (Cabrera), and cat, Calvin (Johnson). Kelly Bonnell, Executive Administrative Assistant and Marketing Coordinator

Kelly Bonnell joined Vachette Pathology in May 2013 as our Executive Assistant. Prior to joining Vachette, Ms. Bonnell attended Central Michigan University, studying elementary education before shifting her focus toward raising her family and doing volunteer work. Ms. Bonnell recently rejoined the workforce as a Chiropractic Assistant at Fields Chiropractic. Her prior experiences have allowed her to develop strong client relation skills, perfect her capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects and expand her strength to be self-directed.

 

Cinnia Tillman, Accounting Manager

Vachette27Cinnia joined Vachette in August of 2012 as our Executive Administrator – Accounting & Business Development. She has since moved into the Accounting Manager position. Prior to joining Vachette, Cinnia worked as the Assistant Manufacturing Director for 15 years at Syn-Tech Systems, Inc., an Engineering/Manufacturing Corp. in North Florida. Moving back home to Michigan, she brings with her more than 35 years of Business Management and Accounting experience. These years of small business management have given Cinnia the knowledge base and abilities to coordinate and manage Vachette’s accounting practices with a focus on our business growth forecasting.

 

Sarie Voss, Managed Care Coordinator

Vachette17Sarie Voss joined Vachette in June of 2014 as the Data Entry Coordinator. Prior to working with us, Sarie attended Ross Medical College where she earned a diploma in Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration, as well as accreditation as a Certified Billing Coding Specialist through the National Health Association. Ms. Voss also spends time volunteering for Relay for Life of Jackson in MI. She first entered the medical field as a Collections Specialist for a medical billing office in Tennessee, which gave her the tools and insights to begin work for our team.

 

Cody Raich, Executive Data Analyst

Vachette08Cody joined Vachette in December of 2015. He is currently working to earn his B.S. in economics at Michigan State University while he assists with compiling our weekly and monthly reports. Cody is an avid fan of Detroit pro sports teams in addition to his Michigan State Spartans. He enjoys an active lifestyle with a passion for skiing, hockey, and quidditch (look it up!). Cody grew up in Blissfield, MI and is currently residing in Tecumseh, MI.

 

Zack Schultz, Marketing Assistant

Vachette03Zack Schultz joined Vachette in August of 2015 as an intern. While here he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Toledo. He was hired in December 2015 and is now the Marketing Assistant for Vachette. In his free time Zack likes to play basketball (when his ankles can handle it) and has a passion for learning new things.

 

David Novis, MD, Strategic Consultant

Dr. Novis has practiced Laboratory Medicine and Pathology for over 30 years. He has considerable experience in providing and evaluating laboratory services, laboratory medical directorship and pathology services. He is a recognized expert, author and lecturer on clinical quality, medical outcome assessment, patient safety, medical service delivery and best practices methodologies. Dr. Novis has served as a Trustee of Wentworth Douglass Hospital. He was honored by the New Hampshire Hospital Association for his exemplary performance in hospital governance with the NHHA Outstanding Trustee of the Year Award (2005). Dr. Novis is the Medical Director of Oxford Diagnostic Laboratories in Marlborough, MA and Memphis, TN, and the CLIA Laboratory Director of Courtagen Life Sciences, Woburn MA. He is a member of the CAP Business Model Advisory Group, an Advisor to the University of New Hampshire Department of Health Management & Policy, Speaker of the House of Delegates and member of the Board of Governors of the College of American Pathologists, and the President of the New Hampshire Society of Pathology. Vachette Pathology is a proud member of the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors.

 

Wesley Miller, Jr., Attorney At Law

Wesley Miller, Jr., Attorney at LawWesley M. Miller Jr. is a successful attorney practicing since 1990. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo and established his own firm practicing general law, and has since refined his practice to the areas of business and civil litigation. A highlight of his career is arguing a case before the Supreme Court of Ohio, not once but twice. He maintained his practice while living in Illinois and Arizona over a period of 10 years returning to the Ohio/Michigan area when needed. Prior to establishing his legal career, he was employed in various capacities in business, his last as vice president for a nationally known health insurer directing the information technology division. He has served as an adjunct faculty in business law courses. He currently resides in Toledo, OH. with his wife, Lucinda, and their dogs Baxter and Bailey.
