Mr. Vogel has 17 years experience in the healthcare industry with his 2 most recent years at Vachette Pathology working directly with Pathologists to improve their payments through proven methods deployed at Vachette. Rich brings 15 years of hospital-based health care knowledge to Vachette Pathology. He has extensive experience in operational and financial management of clinical, ancillary and support departments including over 5 years with clinical and AP labs. Mr. Vogel’s primary responsibilities and oversight included the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, capital equipment/instrument acquisition as well as the development, implementation and monitoring of business plans and customer service initiatives. Rich comes with both urban tertiary care and academic medical center experience.
As a Hospital Administrator, Rich has negotiated contracts for Part A with the pathology group and collaborated in efforts to bring in additional outreach work including surgical pathology and cytology volume from community and regional hospitals, providers, and reference laboratories. Furthermore, Rich has partnered with the pathology group to identify opportunities to improve operations through process review and redesign and instrumentation replacement/acquisition. This unique experience and advocacy for hospital based Pathologists expand Vachette’s insight into Hospital Administration and institution dynamics that pose unique challenges for our pathology clients.
Mr. Vogel also brings several years of experience in process review and redesign through the utilization of various lean tools including, direct observation and process mapping with positive operational outcomes impacting process efficiency and effectiveness. Some successes included the restructuring/consolidation of clinical and support operations, reducing expenses $2.2M through supply chain initiatives and other resource reallocation and process changes. Additionally, Rich was involved with business development activity and customer service efforts expanding the laboratory product line, increasing revenue $655K while maintaining the current client base of local and regional health care providers accounting for $3.4M in revenue.
Academically, Rich has obtained his MBA in Health Care Management supported by his Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance.
